Together with Ellen ter Gast (biologist and philosopher) and Bart van der Heide (manager curators Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam) we enjoyed a delicious dinner in restaurant Joelia.
Ellen is driven by endless curiosity for what moves people and to the wonderful world of biology. By writing and teaching she shares her knowledge and she explores questions about nature and naturalness, quality of life, identity, the normal and the abnormal.
Bart particularly made a name at the Kunstverein Munich. He was able to renew content and business of this famous institute. With interesting exhibitions, the Kunstverein was again put on the map and at the same time increasing the number of members. To make an art institute more accessible to a wider audience with more content is until now an unknown phenomena in the Netherlands.
Ellen and Bart would not mind intrude in their work to others. They listen well and force themselves to ask questions. It is painful to see that architects and urban planners often are dopamine junkies. They are addicted to being right and getting right. Going through life questioning is the right attitude.
