Monday, March 25 we had a diner with urban planner Marty van de Klundert (Spacevalue) and architect Sander Bouw (Foam architecten). Both are used sit down at a certain table. The actor approach of Marty brings end users and decision makers together. For this he often organizes in projects Roundtable Meetings . for this way he comes to interesting spatial solutions. Architect at your Table is the method of Sander to help individuals to restore their home. For a fixed amount Sander comes to you anywhere in the Netherlands. The proactive attitude and enthusiasm of Marty and Sander have led to an interesting lively evening. Unfortunately forgot to take pictures.
This time we went to eat in that crazy farm opposite the NAi: Old Dutch. The white building was part of the instant shopping complex that was built in 1940 between the Binnenweg and the Museum Park. The farmhouse is the only remaining building. The cottage architecture of the building has tried to recreate the old Dutch atmosphere of prewar bodega on Coolsingel. The exterior and interior are carefully maintained to hold the pre and post-war atmosphere. The dishes were old fashioned tasty. Recognizable, uncomplicated and straightforward arranged plates made for a very relaxing supper.
Daan Bakker (Daf-architecten), Jeroen de Willigen (DeZwarteHond), Jasper de Haan (architect) and I invite each month a number of colleagues to eat, drink and discuss about our profession, the city of Rotterdam and related matters.
